Product Review: Sheer Cover Mineral Makeup
The Sheer Cover infomercials lead viewers to believe the mineral makeup will cover as well as a liquid makeup and give an airbrushed finish. I found this to be basically true. The makeup did mask a lot of the redness and blemishes I had.
Sheer Cover comes with two jars of makeup in slightly different shades, as well as a jar of finishing powder. Receiving two shades (you can order light, medium or dark) makes it easy to get just the right shade for your skin. The finishing powder did help set the makeup, which prevented rub-off and kept my oily shine to a minimum.
Sheer Cover makeup also came with a brush that I didn't care for too much. The bristles were soft, but not angled. I prefer an angled brush for more precise application. The brush also seemed to shed bristles a lot.
A moisturizer also came with the makeup. This moisturizer worked fine, and was oil free with sun protection. However, I preferred other lotion for my very flaky skin. Sheer Cover's moisturizer probably does fine for normal skin though.
Another reason I liked Sheer Cover was the ingredients. I liked the idea that every time I wore the makeup I was not clogging my pores with chemicals. In fact, there are no fragrances, preservatives or perfumes in the makeup. The makeup also supposedly offers anti-aging benefits through Green Rooibos Tea. Although I used the product for a few months, I did not notice any anti-aging effects, not that my skin needed it anyway.
The fact that Sheer Cover is sent to you and automatically billed seemed convenient at first. However, that quickly became inconvenient. I was receiving one shipment every two months, and being billed $30 each month. It was quite annoying that I was paying every month and only receiving product half the time, and customer service explained it was supposed to be that way.
