Holidays on Earth Today: November 9, 2007

There Are 52 Days Left of This Year!

Holidays are such an important part of each countries tradition along with supporting its culture. Some of the most popular holidays on earth either revolve around the Christian belief such as Easter and Christmas however there are
other popular ones such as Independence Day, New Year Day, and Valentines and so on. Then there are strange and weird holidays that really have no meaning besides the mere purpose to have an excuse to celebrate something. Have you ever wondered what is going on around the world today?

Today marks the 313th day of the year!

There are 52 days left of this year!

Here is what is going on today around the world:

1. United States:

*Parade Day: As far as I can find, there is no exact date for the first parade done by humans. I am sure it has something to do with a royal family overseas or a military parade through the streets before going to war however I am not sure. In my opinion the holiday probably has something to do with also being Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day.

*Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day: Unfortunately I am not sure why this date has been chosen for this holiday. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial was established on November 13, 1982 in Washington, DC, USA but no date has been found for why today the Memorial Day is set since the war ended in April.

*Go To An Art Museum Today Day: There is no direct history behind this holiday that I could find -seems like a lot of listed holidays are just patented by individuals that do not want the recognition. But anyways, today marks the date of museums. I looked around and a lot of museums have free admission this weekend in honor of Veterans Day on Sunday. So, go out there and visit an art museum for free this weekend.

Okay, we'll definitely be reading today (everyday actually) to celebrate "National Young Readers day" and I'll have to turn on all of our neon lights--yes we do have some--to celebrate the Neon's birthday. Love this!
