Unless you live in Texas, you may find it funny to see people out and about wearing a pair of leather cowboy boots. Not only have they come back, they've come back as a true fashion statement and test of one's style: if you can pull off the appropriate outfit to wear with your boots, you're in. So what's appropriate?1. Skirts
Any length skirt can achieve a little sass with a pair of coordinating boots. Keep in mind; you don't want to wear your black pencil skirt for work with a pair of brown cowboy boots. But pairing your boots with a flowy flowered skirt could be cute.
2. Shorts
Yes, it can be done. But to avoid looking like Daisy Duke, try to stay away from the shortest shorts on the market.
3. Jeans
Some people tuck their jeans into their boots, and others wear their boots tucked under their jeans. Either way, it makes a statement with any shade of blue jeans.
4. Dresses
Head the same warning you would take with skirts: a black mini-dress is probably not going to look as good as your cutesy summer garb. A skin tight dress is also going to look a little bit odd - so take out your flowered sundress you haven't touched since Woodstock and you've got yourself a whole new outfit.
Just as quickly as you can climb the fashion ladder, you can skyrocket back down with the wrong look.
1. Keep the boots away from your work clothes
They have no place in your office. Unless you herd cattle for a living, chances are you would become the laughing stock of the office if you try to charm clients with this little mistake.
2. Boots and the gym don't mix
I shouldn't even have to say this, but if you go to the gym in your sweats with these on your feet, you won't receive a warm welcome from your trainer. They aren't meant for jogging, so stick with what you know - your sneakers are there for you.
3. Don't wear a western style shirt
If it's Halloween, go for it. Otherwise, never pair this style shirt with any kind of pants or skirt and then throw on your cowboy boots. You'll look country, and it won't be in a good way.
4. Formal occasions are no place for boots
They should never witness weddings, funerals or fancy dinners. I know you love your boots, but they're not on the invite list - trust me.
