Some people feel that they have the ugliest sinks in the world. Well there are various ways that you can add some beauty to your bathroom sink. How can this be accomplished? It just takes a little sink cover up to do the trick. First you will need to gather together the following materials; Fabric of your choosing for the sink skirt (at least two yards), thread to match your fabric, a self adhesive hook and loop tape, and fabric glue, measuring tape.

To begin making your sink cover up, you first need to determine how long your skirt will be, or the depth. You can do this by measuring from the edge of the sink to the floor. For a gathered skirt you will want to double the sink measurement in order to get the exact width. You can then cut out your fabric to the needed dimensions. Next you can begin hemming the woven fabric all around the edges. You will want to make the hem at least two to three inches deep at the top. Place gathering stitches all the way along the hemline and pull up to fit around the sink.

Make sure you stitch over each of the gathers to hold them in place. For the bottom of the skirt you will wan to turn the edges under and hem them also. In order to make it look more decorative you will want to cut a piece of fabric to use as a strip to fit over the gathers. Fold the edges over and top stitch them into place over the gathering threads. You can then sew the hook and loop tape on the wrong side of the fabric following the hemline. Now you can place the hook side of the hook and loop tape onto the sink and press the fabric to the sink. If you are not in the mood to sew then you can use fabric glue to adhere it to the sink.
