Fibroids are tissue masses that grow from the wall of the uterus, they can be very small or very large. Fibroids are not cancerous but cause heavy bleeding during and/or between menstrual periods. Fibroids cause intense pain in the pelvic area and lower back area, and causes frequent urination. Fibroids are very common and can eventually lead to a woman having a hysterectomy. However, there are a number of alternative treatments to reduce and even eliminate fibroids.

Trying acupressure for ten minutes can reduce fibroids and heal the body from fibroids. Stimulating particular acupressure points can help to reduce fibroids. Applying acupressure involves sitting in a chair and moving your thumb clockwise for about a minute in the various areas of the body. The pressure should be firm but not so firm that you cannot stand the pain. There are five points: LV3 (big and second toe area), LV14 (between the ribs and the nipple), CV4 (between the pubic bone and the navel), SP6 (above the ankle just to the side of the shinbone), and SP10 (the inside of the knee, slightly above the kneecap in the fleshy part of the bulge), work each area twice a day for at least three months. If the fibroids are reduced, continue the treatment to prevent the fibroids from returning.

An easy alternative treatment to reduce fibroids is to avoid eating foods that increases the levels of estrogen such as red meat, poultry, dairy products, sweets, caffeine, alcohol, and other types of food that can cause estrogen levels to increase. Eating lots of fiber and soy products can work to reduce estrogen levels and therefore, reduce fibroids. Magnesium can work wonders for the muscles by providing stimulation to the muscle tissues strengthening the muscles. Take 1,000 to 1,500 mgs of magnesium a day to help reduce the fibroids.
