Several weeks ago I had a really bad mouse problem. I found that the little critters had been in my cupboards where I stored boxes of rice and bags of beans. I saw where they had gnawed to their way into the bags and boxes and left their droppings behind. It wasn't only my kitchen that was targeted by these varmints. They had gotten into my bedroom, and at night I heard noises, but I wasn't sure from where they came. One night I heard gnawing sounds coming from my dresser drawer. I opened the drawer to find a mass of confetti that used to be college term papers.

I was at a loss for what to do because I have pets. I couldn't leave poison around for fear my cat or dog would get into it. I was also afraid of the snap mouse traps for fear of injuring my fur babies. I decided to try to D-Con round mouse trap. It was easy to bate from the underside of it. Just read the directions-it's easy. I put peanut butter in where the bate goes, but you can use cheese or some other treat for the mouse to sniff out.

The D-Con no touch round mouse trap is really a no see no touch mouse trap. It works just the way it is advertised. I am a bit squeamish when it comes to killing animals, even if those animals are pests, but not seeing them makes it a bit easier. This mouse trap is easy to use; you just bait it and twist it once to set it. When a mouse is caught in the trap, you will be alerted by the indicator on the top of the trap. When the trap is set correctly the indicator will say "set" and when a mouse is trapped in the device it will say "mouse caught".

I just bought these traps and put the 6 traps along the main areas that the mouse would go (fridge, stove, washer, and dryer.) It worked! I heard a SNAP and 5 of the 6 traps still had the red marker showing 'set' while 1 did not. While the trap did not show the marker at 'mouse caught' like the box said it would the thing did have the hole door shut. I used a broom to sweep the disk into a dustpan and to dump into the trash. I think it felt heavier so mission accomplished. I only hope I have 1 mouse and not 100 mice. Still, even though these traps are pricey I feel it is worth it if I get the mice!

But, how does a simple twist kill a mouse instantaneously as the tv ad says? I cannot find anything that details the method in which the varmints are killed. Is there some sort of agony they go through prior to dying? Thanks.

I am going to forward this to a friend of mine that is having trouble with field mice in her pantry. She has managed to kill two of them with other traps but she is sure there are more of them. Great as always!

Good review..my cats solve my mice problems..I always allow them to go into the garage so they can put their scent out there because that's where most of the mice around here would come from...

I just found that a mouse had chewed through a bag of granola in the cupboard and am dreading having to set a trap. Thanks for the review.

Great review! I hope it helps somebody with a mouse problem. I will keep that in my mind if I ever have to deal with that. :-)

Sounds like your cat is too well-fed to do his job! Glad you found a way to deal with the mouse problem, though. Sounds like a good solution for people with lazy cats. :)

That's funny. When I read your last piece about a mouse , I thought it was the animal. this time, I thought the mouse had to do with computers---you've been foling me.

I don't have a mouse problem even though I have a back yard. Once I did and all we did was seal up a whole in the cupboard with steel wool and it did the trick.
