Six Things You Should Never Do when You're Feeling Blue
We all feel blue at times, but the worst thing you can do when you're feeling down is make a life-altering decision. We've all done it, although we won't all admit it. You're just sitting at home, f
eeling sad for yourself, and the next thing you know you're on a plane to Mexico even though you can't afford it. Well, it sounded like a good idea at the time, right? Or you've decided you need a complete make-over and went out and maxed out your credit cards for a whole new wardrobe. These rash decisions can really cost you in the long run and are best avoided. Below are six things you should never do when you're feeling blue.
1.
Get a haircut - We've all done this. You're styling your hair and decide that you just can't stand it anymore so off you go to the walk-in hair salon. "Cut it all off," you tell the stylist. Oh boy. 99.9% of the time you're really going to regret this. You will no longer be blue by the time you get home, you will be downright depressed. Avoid the "I hate my hair" haircut altogether and save yourself from the months of growing it out blues.
2.
Go grocery shopping - It's a proven fact that if you shop when you are hungry you will buy way too many bad foods for you. Well that goes for feeling blue, too. If you go grocery shopping when you are felling down you will end up with a whole cupboard of comfort foods like Mac & Cheese, Twinkies and those yummy double fudge chocolate thingies. Of course you should eat when you're blue but stay away from heavy grocery shopping. Otherwise you will feel blue and fat, which will only make you feel even more blue.
3.
Shop - While you are staying out of the grocery store make sure to stay away from shopping malls too. Filling up your credit card with things you don't need won't make you happy. You will be sadder when the bills come a month down the road. Find a friend to hang out with instead. And if necessary, give your friend your credit cards to protect them from you.
