While the Thanksgiving holiday doesn't come replete with hordes of candy or stacks of presents, it can still be a fun holiday for your kids to enjoy. The following craft ideas will get your children excited about Thanksgiving, and you'll have hand-crafted decorations for the holiday all over your home!

Popsicle stick Mayflower: This one works best with hot glue, so adult supervision is a must! For this cute craft you'll need popsicle sticks, hot glue and gun, construction paper, yarn, regular glue, scissors, and crayons. First you will hot glue your popsicle sticks together to make a boat-this can get tedious, so I recommend sticking to a simple square boat. While your boat is drying, create a sail using white construction paper and glue it to a popsicle stick. Then hot glue that stick vertically in the center of your boat. Then create Pilgrims by drawing faces on popsicle sticks, gluing on construction paper outfits and yarn for hair. Then hot glue the Pilgrims vertically to the ship like you did with the sail. Kids will love constructing this cute, crafty Mayflower "replica."

Paper plate turkey: For this one you'll need one paper plate, construction paper, glue, scissors, and crayons. First take the paper plate and color it brown to make the turkey's body. Then use a piece of brown construction paper to cut out a small circle for the turkey's head. Use the crayons to draw the turkey's face on the brown circle. Then glue the head onto the paper plate body by gluing the circle onto the very bottom middle of the plate. Next, take blue, green, orange, yellow, and red construction paper to create five feathers. Cut them out and glue the very bottom of each onto the back of the plate so that the feathers look like they are coming out of the back of the turkey's body. Let the glue dry and use the turkey as a colorful wall decoration.
