Eneloop Rechargeable Batteries: Are They Really Better?

Eneloop Rechargeable Batteries: Are they the answer? For certain electronic devices rechargeable batteries (such as the ones found in digital cameras) are the only way to go. Only in certain desperate cases have I had to use regular batteries to squeeze out a couple pictures in my digital camera. You're on a trip armed with your digital camera, your rechargeable batteries and your battery charger. Panicked your going to miss something you take pictures of everything. Some things you take multiple pictures of just to make sure you got the best possible angle. Snap Snap Snap and you think "I can do this because it's a digital camera and I'm not wasting film. I bought plenty of batteries before I got here." Your current batteries go dead so you go to replace them with the new ones you just got prior to your trip when for some reason they don't work. You flip the batteries around hoping you put them in wrong, hit the power button and...nothing. You're out of juice and panicking because there's stuff out there you are missing. Your only option is to run up to the closest possible place or person that will sell you the batteries you so desperately need and pay a kings ransom for it. What else are you supposed to do when your in such a bind?

Unlike regular batteries these rechargeables on steroids are not found everywhere. You can get them at most electronic stores but your best bet will be to buy them online where you can find them at half their normal price. Amazon.com and Ebay.com are some great sites to find them.
