Advice on Long Distance Relationships

Long Distance relationships are great if you trust your partner. Since the relationship is based on communication via phone calls, emails, and IMs you really do have to faith your partner. Coming into college I would have never thought I'd be involved in a long distance relationship. Since I've been in one I've realized that it is hard to do, but you can make it work. You have to take down your guard and be able to say my partner is not cheating on me or doing something they aren't suppose to be doing with anyone else. The problem with me is that I get jealous easily and it doesn't help that I don't see my significant other everyday. I was one of the types that would constantly call to see what they were doing. I don't do much of that anymore because I realize it is annoying to my partner. But the best part is seeing them when I go home. I love that. It's like seeing something you really wanted in a store and finally being able to buy it. All of the built up emotion comes rushing out to the one you love. So thats the best reward.

Alot of college students experience this type of relationship. I suggest that if you do decide to be in one you have to have complete trust and faith in the person that you are going to do it with. And do try to see them often, that helps alot. But do realize long distance relationships are not for everybody.
