How to Create Plastic Canvas Ribbon Candy Christmas Ornaments
This is the easiest and quickest plastic canvas pattern ever. Even cutting the plastic canvas will be quick. These make great gifts as well as look great on the Christmas tree.
Items you will need are:
1 pair of scissors
1 ball of white yarn
1 yarn needle
Several sheets of colored Plastic Canvas uncut and brand new 7 Mesh Or just one all depending on how many you wish to make.
The reason I stress the sheets have to be brand new 7 Mesh Plastic Canvas is it will save you time counting squares, but if you are stuck not using brand new sheets then I will enclose the square count as well.
You will be cutting strips 5 squares wide by 90 squares long. You only need to cut however many you wish to make at a time. Each strip of plastic canvas will make one plastic canvas ribbon candy Christmas ornament.
While sewing this, you need to make sure you remember which side is the front and which side is the back. This is extremely important to make note of. The reason for this is one side will be visible the other side will not be less.
I like to do the inside of the pattern first. After you have cut a long piece of yarn and thread your needle you need to hold it so the long side is horizontal, as the way the sun sets.
Count in 2 squares and count down 3 from the top of the plastic canvas strip. You have just found where we want to place the needle in from the back side. Once you put the needle in and pull it through to the front, be sure to leave a bit in the back which you will be wrapping around the yarn with your next few stitches, leave about 1 to 2 inches.
