This snowman Christmas ornament is made from recycled light bulbs! You can make the cutest recycled snowman Christmas ornaments and save them from the landfill!

This recycled Christmas snowman light bulb is a fun craft for kid and adults alike!

To Make a Snowman Ornament From a Light Bulb You Will Need:

1 regular light bulb

Spray on stone paint

Wire

Paint pens

Puff paint

To get started you want to cut off about a ten inch piece of wire.

Wrap this around the threaded part of your light bulb securely. Leave the extra end loose; you can pull it up straight.

This will allow you to hang your light bulb while you paint it, so it does not have any unpainted areas where it is resting on you work surface.

Now, go ahead and spray the entire light bulb white with a stone textured spray paint. Krylon makes a great one perfect for this.

While the white snowman light bulb is drying you can cut out a circle of cardboard. An old food box cardboard would be perfect for this. Make it twice as wide a the diameter of the threaded end of your light bulb.

Cut out the center of the circle, so that is can slide onto the small end of your light bulb, right over the thread, and rest on the body of the light bulb.

Go ahead and paint this circle black. Once it dries slip it onto the light bulb. Paint the threaded end of the light bulb black now as well. This will create the effect of a top hat on your snowman Christmas ornament.

Now, on to the decorating.

I like to paint the face of the snowman ornament right under the top hat, rather small. That way to wider part of the bulb looks like the fat body of a snowman.

You can cut out a thin strip of scrap fabric to make a small scarf that wraps around the neck of the snowman. This will define the face for you.

Tip: If you have access to a piece of coal, try placing it in a small plastic bag. Use a hammer to break it into tiny bits. These can be glued on as the eyes, mouth a button of the snowman ornament!

Once any details painted on have dried you want to take that loose length of wire and bend it over into a small loop that rests right at the top of the snowman Christmas ornament craft. Trim off any excess and you are ready to hang your snowman Christmas ornament on the tree!
