Help brain cancer patients by donating to or shopping at the website for the Susan E. Lusty Glioblastoma Foundation. I worked with Susan in Princeton, NJ. She was an amazing woman. Her energy, kindness, and sheer joy of a good time made working with her a treat. Her daughter created a foundation to help brain tumor patients in Susan's memory. Please go to www.FightBrainCancer.org to donate to the Susan E. Lusty Foundation or to buy bracelets in the S.E.L.F-a-Wear portion of the website. Funds raised are used to help brain tumor patients and their families.

Buy your holiday cards from Unicef. They offer beautiful, unique cards. The funds raised help children receive medical care and education. You can save lives with the dollars you spend on your Christmas or Hanukkah cards. They also offer many cute note cards that may be used year round. See the Resources List to the left to find the website for Unicef and other organizations mentioned in this article.

Help Saint Jude's Hospital in Memphis, TN, by shopping their website to help children who are ill. All patients receive free care via kind donations and purchases by people who want to help sick children. Danny Thomas, the actor, founded this hospital to help provide free care to children because he was unable to get medical care when he was a child. His legacy lives on in the life of every child treated at Saint Jude's Hospital. Do a good deed and buy one of the wonderful products for sale by Saint Jude's Hospital. Your money will help children in urgent need of medical care.

Excellent article. I always do Toys for Tots and I've adopted a local nursing home. I take small gifts for the residents at Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Christmas. This year I managed to squeak out a couple of more things. I did Anysoldier.com, which was such fun for me and hopefully a reminder to them that not everyone over here is against them personally. I just wish I could a lot more than I can. But the point is that if everyone did something, we could make a real difference. Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks for writing this . . . I always mean to try to buy to help, but can never find where to shop when I'm ready!

We all need all the help we can get and these charities are all good, but it helps to buy an angel form the angel tree to help the poor or elderly that won't have Christmas without you. Nice article
