When I went to Elvis Presley's Graceland home I decided to buy the whole package and visit the other places of interest opposite Graceland.

Although I am not into cars I knew about Elvis's love of cars and motorcycles, especially that 'pink Cadillac' he bought for his mother, just after becoming a star. I think that popped up in every newsreel around the world. As a child he was my idol, and I thought how lucky she was to have a son who cared like that.

The visitor Center or Graceland Plaza, as it is called, it opposite Graceland, Elvis's home. Here is an 18 acre complex. It has many places of interest but today I writing about the Automobile Museum at the south side of the plaza.

You know you have found it when you see a green Cadillac convertible. On entering the large building (13,000 square feet) you will see a neat concept. There are trees, shrubs, and a road to take you to the exhibits.

I imagined Elvis sitting in his 1956 purple Cadillac convertible. It is said that this car was white, and the King himself, squashed some grapes on it, and insisted that he wanted it painted that color. Cute story but who knows.

Another car on display was said to be one of his favorites a 1973 Stutz Blackhawk. He used this vehicle a great deal in his latter years. This was the car he drove on August 16th, 1977 which brought tears to my eyes.

Other cars include, a 1956 Continental Mark II. This elegant white car is close to a 'gas station' and has a tree and shrubs behind it. Elvis's 1975 Dino Ferrari 308 GT4 Coupe is also on display.

Then there are the motorcycles. To name some, 1965 Honda, a couple of 1976 Harley Davidson Electra-Glide 1200 bikes, 1966 Harley chopper too. You will also see some of his black leather jackets, and other biking gear.

How about some fun transport?

Set in a neat area, with street lights, trees, shrubs, and grass you can check out his 'toys'. There are 3 three-wheeled super cycles, go-cart, dune buggy, a snowmobile, pedal car, and one of his many golf carts.

In another area you can view a pink Willy's jeep. Elvis purchased this in1960 so that the guards could check out the grounds.
