New York Giants Quarterback Eli Manning Needs to Visit the Wizard After Loss to Dallas
He Really Needs Some Heart
When Eli Manning followed brother Peyton into the NFL, he had to have known that his brother would cast a large shadow. Knowing this, and taking an honest self assessment, did he consider thatThe New York Giants went into the match up with the Dallas Cowboys trailing by only one game. Right up until the middle of the fourth quarter the Giants were in the game. In the fourth quarter, everything fell apart for the younger Manning brother. Not only did he appear to be sleepwalking throughout the most vital parts of the game, but he accrued four delay of game penalties. All four of the penalties were deal breakers.
Eli Manning has been around football his entire life. He has grown up with a football family that spans his lifetime. He has been groomed to be an NFL quarterback for years, and has all of the raw skills to be a successful one. How could he possibly make such lame brained penalties at such a crucial point of an important game? Any game for that matter? It is quite simple, really. He does not have the heart to be an NFL quarterback.
This is one part of being a quarterback that Eli could win over his esteemed and more gifted brother Peyton. He can't win the physical or team skills, as those are gifts you have or you don't. He certainly cannot compare his skills to brother Peyton's. Heart comes from inside, and Eli should be driven to win in that way. No one that watched the fourth quarter of that game could say that Eli was putting out maximum effort. He was down two touchdowns, and going so slow in getting off the plays that he was getting delay of game penalties. In a hurry up offense, how the heck do you get delay of game penalties?
Maybe Tiki Barber was on to something when talking about Eli earlier this season. If this game was any indication, then the controversial Barber was dead on. Eli has the chance to be a special player, but he really needs to visit the Wizard and get a heart first.

It's got to be tough with a brother like Peyton Manning (however he threw SIX interceptions last weeks - yikes!) Great article on Eli!
