Shelly was a lonely divorcee with two children. She was one of those people that truly hated being single. Shelly was a traditionalist. To her, bliss came in the form of a husband, hearth and home. Determined to find someone to share her life with she tried the bar scene, where she had minimal success. She scored a couple of dates, but none of them amounted to much. One of them even turned out to be a felon, a car thief, to be exact. She found out the hard way when he ended up stealing from her; not her car, but money and jewelry. After a time, Shelly became completely disillusioned with the dating, but she refused to give up, she hated being alone that much. Taking pity, her friends set her up on a few blind dates that turned out to be utter disappointments. She was desperate enough that she would have considered men from her church, if there had been any there under the age of seventy or over the age of twelve. Weekly, she scanned the men in the supermarket, and even met someone once, but it didn't last; he was unemployed and looking for someone to support him.
Shelly was becoming increasingly depressed; she was beginning to think that she was one of "those desperate" women. She was thrilled when at a party for a co-worker, she met the man of her dreams. He was a bit older, but he was a fox, a silver haired fox. He was devastatingly handsome, and worldly. This guy was dripping with money and his demeanor exuded class; he simply, took her breath away.
Roy lavished her with caviar, champagne and roses. Her life was suddenly an exciting whirlwind of plays, fine restaurants and elite social clubs. There were long weekend getaways at the finest resorts. He even took her to Europe. Roy was every girls dream, He doted on Shelly showering her with gifts, mostly consisting of impeccable jewelry. The cavalcade of parties and presents went on for several months until, as suddenly as it all started, it evolved into the cold hard reality of cancelled dates, followed by weekends and holidays alone. She was more alone than she had ever been before.
