As with many foods, artichoke hearts are an acquired taste. While none of my family likes the taste, I love it. Artichoke hearts with shrimp, over noodles, tossed with salad and even all alone, are a great treat that, not only, tastes great but is truly healthy as well. The Polar Four Season Marinated Artichoke Hearts add even more taste to any already perfect food. The Polar Four Season Marinated Artichoke Hearts are packaged in a 12 ounce, clear jar. This packaging allows the consumer to view the hearts before they purchase the product. In all honesty, the packaging was the real reason I tried the Polar Four Season Marinated Artichoke Hearts to begin with. The clear glass encased these perfectly packed, marinated and seasoned artichoke hearts. They were simply beautiful.
The beauty does not stop at the packaging of this product. The artichoke hearts truly taste wonderful, as well. The marinade is made up of oils and spices perfectly coordinated with the fibrous texture of an artichoke heart. The sharp lemon flavor plays well with the oils in the mouth. The marinade also made the product perfect for tossing with pasta. With the texture of the oils very similar to a vinaigrette, the product serves a dual purpose.
Artichoke hearts, while tasty, are not just a great food to eat for the mouth buds. These hearty vegetables are great for the body and diet, as well. With only 25 calories per serving, 1.5 grams of fat and 90 milligrams of sodium, you can not go wrong even if you decide to eat the entire jar. And, at $3.44 a jar, you may just find yourself eating more than your full on a regular basis.
Another great feature of the Polar Four Season Marinated Artichoke Hearts is they are refrigerate friendly. If, in the case that you are the only one in the home who likes artichoke hearts, you find the need to place the opened jar in the refrigerator, the artichoke hearts hold well for 7-10 days. Not that they will last that long.
