A person can only live so long before her biological clock clicks into position and sends signals to your brain telling you, "It's time! It's time!" Sexual cravings aside, this is your body saying that you're getting on with age, and before your little sisters die out, you'd better do something to ensure the continuation of your lineage.

After setting your mind to reproduce, you begin to question if you are ready for this parenthood. You are right to be afraid of parenthood; the responsibility that comes with it is enormous. Bringing a new born baby into the world will change all your priorities, because all of a sudden, you are entirely responsible for the whole of somebody else's life. You have to think about clothing her, feeding her, sheltering her, and loving her. Are you ready to do all this?

Things you have to think about before having that baby are whether you can handle an infant financially, physically, and mentally. Financially, you have to be able to support the medical fees of the mother, and when the baby is born, the living expenses incurred. Physically, you will have to cope with the discomfort of bearing the child, and after birth, having to constantly monitor the child. Mentally, you have to keep up with the pressures (mostly from yourself) to be a good parent.

The financial aspect of planning for your baby is the one you control the most. While planning to finance the pregnancy, you have to take into consideration sessions of prenatal care, that will increase in frequency as the final term of your pregnancy comes to a close. If you have purchased health insurance, it may cover a portion of the cost of prenatal care. You should also factor in the costs incurred after the baby is born. Cost of food, health care for the child, have to be taken into account, and if you intend to work after giving birth, possibly child care. If you are unable to cover all your bases, then you should reconsider having the child.
