There are several self publishing companies out there that offer print on demand services. The cheapest start up costs right now is with xlibris. They offer publishing costs as slow as $299.00. This service allows you to publish your book in paper back and gives an author review copy for free. You get to choose from 3 cover templates and 2 interior templates. You will be able to supply the company a picture for your cover or you can have them create an image for you. With this package your get an ISBN number and your book is listed in all the electronic book stores including Amazon.com and Barnes and Nobles. You receive 25% royalties on all books you sell but the company sets the price which is usually from eleven to sixteen dollars.
With this package you also get an author's web page and a book web page. You can track the production of your book and the sale of your book through bookstore. There are other publishing on demand companies out there and most are comparable in price and structure. The only thing that changes is how much royalty the author receives. Some companies only give the author 25% while others will give the author 100% royalties after the cost of printing. You just have to shop around and compare.
