This Christmas Cookie Tree centerpiece is an awesome Christmas craft that will decorate the center of your buffet table and still taste great! Kids can help make this edible Christmas cookie tree centerpiece!

You can also use a clear plastic bag to wrap your Christmas cookie tree and give it as a great holiday gift. I love giving out Christmas cookies to friends and neighbors and this is a fun new way to share during the holidays!

To Make a Christmas Cookie Tree Centerpiece You Will Need:

Sugar Cookies

Branches

Acrylic paint

Pot

Rocks

Styrofoam

To get started you need some branches. You can use plastic branches from the local craft store or some really braches from the yard. Either way, o ahead and wash them with warm water and soap.

Dry them thoroughly and then you are ready to start making your Christmas cookie tree.

Now, you have a few options here. First, you can simply paint the branches, real or plastic, with spray paint. Another fun option is to add some edible glitter while the paint is wet. Edible glitter is best in case any comes off after the paint dries.

Be sure to use an acrylic food safe paint!

Now, on to the stand for your Christmas cookie tree centerpiece. You can use a mini Christmas tree stand if you want. (You can also use a mini Christmas tree in place of the branches.)

Another option is to use a flower pot. Fill the flower pot halfway with red and green marbles. Stand the branches in the middle, and then fill in the rest of the Christmas colored marbles.

If you have a metal bucket or even a tall cookie tin, then use that in place of the flower pot.

Now, on to the cookies. You can use your favorite sugar cookie recipe here, but there are other options. Check out your local Trader Joe's for pre baked cookies that already have the ornament hook hole in them. They are super sturdy and still taste great!

The kids can decorate the cookies as they wish. Once they dry use ribbons to tie the Christmas cookies to the tree branches. Be sure to fill the Christmas cookie tree centerpiece up so that as guests take cookies off it does not look too empty.
