Email Broadcasting Magic

Have you ever been in a situation where you had over 50 identical emails you wanted to send out but had to contend with all sorts of manipulations to get them all out? Or maybe you have a similar situation while sitting in your office with 100 emails to send out but had to copy and paste the email 100 times because each one had to be personalized with the persons name and some other custom variable.
Well my friend Melissa, an administrative secretary, had the similar situation but her challenge was to email over 400 individuals. She had just started the job too and would get home late because she was still learning how to do the job. Later on I learned about her email sending woes and I consoled her troubles with a mighty email broadcasting wonder called an Auto Responder.
Now, I know it sounds like some contraption that automatically responds and that's partially true, but it ain't no contraption!
My Official Definition...
An auto responder is a computer program that automatically returns a prewritten message to anyone who submits e-mail to a particular email address. It also hosts a feature that enables it to send automated email message to subscribers or members, such as a welcome message, or regular newsletter.
Here's a Practical example of how an auto responder is used:
I told my friend about how an auto responder worked and she got her company to try it. They had over 400 individuals that they had to send this bi-monthly newsletter to.
What they did was to have each of those 400 subscribers go to their website to subscribe to their bi-monthy newsletter.
Now all Melissa has to do to send out her bi-monthly newsletter to over 400 subscribers is to...
1. login
2. copy and paste the newsletter content
3. click send.
4. Lick a tootsie roll and call it a day.
Oh, by the way, just to let you know...
Before they never used to personalize their bi-monthly newsletter, but now every one of those 400+ subscribers receives a personalized newsletter with their name.
It also gives each subscriber the flexibility to unsubscribe automatically from the newsletter by clicking on an unsubscribe link at the end of each newsletter.
