India is a country that is full of hill stations in all the directions. However, Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir are the main areas where the most exotic hill stations are situated. This is due to the fact that the largest mountain range of Himalayas is located near these States. Kilong is one such hill station that is not very commonly visited by the tourists. This is the reason why the beauty of Kilong looks fresh and new to the visitors.

Kilong is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh, around 72 miles away from famous hill station of Manali. Kilong is full of green farms and forests full of willow and poplar trees, which is the specialty of this beautiful place. Kilong is the district headquarters, situated at the height of around 11000 feet. Most of the people follow Buddha religion here. Hence, the entire region is full of Gompas. Kilong is well connected by air and road. The nearest airport is Kulu that is around 80 miles away. The regular bus service is available from Manali, Kulu, and Delhi. Though, the most preferred option to reach Kilong is through hired car or taxi, which is easily available from all the major cities. Such cars or taxis charge around Rs.1200 ($30) to Rs.1800 ($45) per day, depending upon the type of car you choose. The driver is also provided along with the car, making it extremely convenient for the travelers. There are few good hotels available here like hotel Kilong International, Yatra, and Hotel Mayur. We had stayed at Hotel Mayur that provides nice double rooms at the rate of around Rs.2000 ($50) per day. Hotel has a nice restaurant that can serve authentic local food along with some continental dishes. It is advisable to book your hotel in advance, particularly during the peak season of summer from May to October. The food available is mainly North Indian style and is very spicy. Make sure to order as per your choice and taste.
