Review of Delta Airlines Direct Flight to Mumbai from New York

The international travel has become very common these days due to the modern competitive aspects and simplicity of the rules of international travel. The number of airlines have also increased tremendously over the last few years. This has helped the travelers immensely as it is now possible to get the air tickets at very economical rates. The direct flights have also started from USA to India and back. Such direct flights really help in saving lot of time and the hassle of the flight change at any destination in between. My daughter and her family recently traveled in Delta air lines direct flight from New York to Mumbai, commencing their journey from DFW airport of Dallas. I have heard about their experience of this travel in detail and hence, I am presenting a brief review of this travel.

Their delta flight from Dallas was scheduled to leave at 12 noon. They reached at the airport, well in time and completed the international check in formalities well in time without any problems. The flight was also shown on time till 11.15 am. Suddenly, the announcement was made that the flight would now leave at 2 pm. Subsequently, this time kept on shifting from 2 pm to 3.30 pm, and finally the flight cancellation announcement was made at 4 pm. Then, the only alternative left for my daughter was to catch the Delta flight for JFK at 5 pm, which took them to New York only by 9 pm. This gave them only 20 minutes to board in the flight for Mumbai, which departs at 9.20 pm from New York. They also had to reach to gate number 14 from where the flight for Mumbai was leaving from their arrival gate number 4 at New York airport. They could just board the flight at last minute. As soon as they boarded the flight, next problem was to find space for their hand baggage in the overhead compartments. All the overhead compartments were full and hence, all their hand baggage was required to be kept in front of the aircraft.
