I'm sure if you could look in most people pantries you'd find Morton Kosher Salt. Any Cheffie wannabee certainly uses this regularly. My husband certainly does. We always have a 3 lb. box or two of the Morton Coarse Kosher salt. Hubby keeps some of the coarse salt in a grinder, some he uses straight out of the box. He also keeps a Pampered Chef glass prep jar full of already ground coarse salt. The jar comes with a lid and sits on the table when we eat and near the stove when he's cooking. It's near the cutting board when he's prepping a meal.

You can lay some Morton coarse Kosher salt down in a plate and rim your Margarita or Bloody Mary drink glass when you're having a party. You rub the rim of the glass with lime, invert it onto the plate and swirl. Strain your chilled drink and pour in into the prepared glass. It makes your drink present very well.

According to the recipe on the back of the Morton box you can combine finely minced crystallized ginger with the salt and rim a glass with this. Add this touch to a red grapefruit and orange juice concentrate that has been chilled and mixed with crushed ice and you have their Salty Ginger Rimmed Ruby Red Rita. Skewer a lime and a cherry and perhaps a slice of grapefruit or orange and lay this over the top of the glass. This was created by Nikki Norman. Salt can be flavored for a mutltide of interesting drink rimming.

When cooking with Morton Coarse Kosher salt you should increase your Kosher Salt by one tablespoon for each 1/4 cup of regular salt. When baking, you can add Kosher salt as a topping when baking breads, pretzels and bagels. Mix the salt with caraway or poppy seeds, garlic or onion for more flavors.

You can Kosher poultry and meat with kosher salt. Let your product soak in cool water for 30 minutes. Drain. Cover all sides and cavities with the Kosher salt. Let stand for 1 hour. Shake off salt and rinse twice with tap water.

There are many salt versions by Morton: Coarse & Fine Sea Salt, Table Salt, Pickling and Canning Salt and lite salt a well sa the Coarse Kosher Salt.
