Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez Finally Confirmed Their Pregnancies but Why Did it Take Them so Long?

With all of the celebrity baby news this year, two of the most speculated pregnancies of the year, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez were finally confirmed recently. Aguilera opened up about hers during a magazine interview and Lopez confirmed hers to concert attendees during her last concert of her and husband Mark Anthony's tour. Many people though, already speculated both were expecting due to their visibly growing bellies. The question many people's minds are pondering is "Why did both wait so far along in their pregnancies to announce the news?"

While the answer is not clear, it is obviously for privacy reasons. This is both Aguilera's and Lopez's first baby and that makes it a premium story for paparazzi. Also, both made their announcements late in the pregnancy. The baby is more viable the later the pregnancy progresses, and had this announcement been made earlier in the pregnancy and God forbid something awful happened, the pain would have been complicated with tabloid stories making assumptions.

With that said, I agree with their decisions. I can't imagine myself having my every move followed, but, when the time is right to announce something, I want to do it on my terms and not anyone else's. Here's to wishing both Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez a "happy rest of your pregnancies" and may you and your families be blessed.
