Each year, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is held at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. With tickets hovering around $50, many tourists are contemplating whether or not this is worth it. Here is my opinion regarding the party.

For around $50, you get: a parade, rides, cookies and hot cocoa, and Christmas decorations. Now, if you were to visit during the daytime and used a regular admission ticket, not the M.V.M.C.P. special-admittance ticket, here is what you would get: rides, Christmas decorations (minus the snow), parades (not Christmas-themed though), and an extra $50 per person in your pocket. Now they do advertise "special fireworks" which are basically red and green fireworks and they can actually be viewed the night of the party for FREE if you are outside at the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Contemporary resorts.

If a Christmas parade or decorations are a must, ask yourself if you will be visiting the Disney MGM Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom. MGM has a very large Spectacle of Lights show (village) and Animal Kingdom has the Jingle Jungle Parade. Costumed Christmas characters are also available for photos there too. Even at Disney prices, a cup of cocoa and cookies will still leave you some change left over from your $50. However, if you do decide to go, Annual Pass holders can receive a discount on certain nights.

Disclaimer: These thoughts and opinions are based solely on my experiences. Crowd levels, prices / discounts, and weather may also influence your decision.
