From a traditional Christmas festival in the Indiana countryside to a classic holiday play in downtown Indianapolis; from a Festival of Trees in Fort Wayne to the big Christmas parade in Lafayette, the Hoosier state abounds with various Christmas events this holiday season.

The Ohio River town of Madison, Indiana hosts its 12th annual holiday event, Festival of Trees. Madison showcases a highly acclaimed, wide array of holiday displays and over 75 impressive Christmas trees. This free holiday event at Lanthier Winery starts Thanksgiving weekend and runs through December 23, 2007. The Festival of Trees is accompanied by the Sugarplum Celebration with holiday sweets from 11am to 3pm December 8 and 9, 2007. The Madison Christmas events are located 123 Mill Street in Madison. Brown County's festive town of Nashville, Indiana is decked out with lights and gift shopping delights at more than 100 shops each holiday season. A free holiday event is a Christmas concert on December 15 at Brown County High School featuring the Community Band and the Brown County Choir. Coachlight Musical Theater features an original musical comedy 'A Brown County Christmas' from November 23 to December 16, 2007 and their website has a complete schedule of show times. A Brown County Christmas takes place at 227 South Van Buren Street in Nashville.

Indiana's land of covered bridges, Parke County is home to the holiday festival Old Fashioned Christmas in Mansfield. Quaint Mansfield Village sparkles with lights and decorations and shopping for Christmas décor, food, homemade crafts and food is a highlight. The Mansfield Indiana Christmas festival also features a turkey dinner, a live nativity scene, and a visit from Santa Claus. Old Fashioned Christmas in Mansfield 2007 takes place Thanksgiving weekend and the first weekend of December. Hours are 5 to 9pm on Fridays, November 23 and 30; 10am to 9pm on Saturdays November 24 and December 1; 10am to 4pm on Sundays November 25 and December 2.
