Would you know what to do once you receive the traffic? The key to getting it done and doing it right is to have your visitors to stick around for a while.
Repeat visitors, become returning customers. Just because someone visits your site or blog does not mean that they will continue to visit your blog.
I remember back in the day when people use to yell that content was king, oh wait, they still do that. Maybe it is because it is true. It isn't just the content that keeps people coming back to your blog, it is the way that it is presented to them.
For all I know, you could be selling manurer and making thousands of dollars a day doing this because your content kept the visitors coming back and soon those visitors started purchasing your product and then they decided that they liked your product. So, what did that traffic become? Money in your pocket.
Now, take for instance that someone has tons of traffic coming to their site because they know how to get their name out their like a pro. The problem with them is that their website traffic is not returning because either their product stinks or their content did not sell the product. This person has a lot of traffic but no profits from it.
See? I guess content really is king and you really can make profit through traffic or lack their of as long as you have repeat visitors.
