Get in the spirit and kick off the holiday season at Southlake's Holiday Celebration in Texas Nov. 17th from 5-9 p.m. at the town square.

The Lighting of the Square will start at 6:30 p.m. and there will be photobuttons with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Santa's Mailbox, face painting, cookie decorating, and performances in Rustin Pavilion by Southlake Community Band and various school choirs.

Nov. 26th the Carol of Lights will take place in Grapevine Nov. 26th and the "Best Time of Year" musical has dates of Nov. 30, Dec. 2, 6, 9, 11, 13, 16, and 18th.

On Nov. 27th join Young Chefs Academy for the holidays in Colleyville, 8300 Precinct Line road at the "Thanksgiving Mini Camp" Nov. 27th. Breakfast with Claus, a family workshop will take place Dec. 1st and Cookies with Claus will be held Dec. 8th. Gifts From the Kitchen mini camp will be presented Dec. 14th. Everything wraps up Dec. 15th with a "Dreaming of a White Christmas" cookie workshop.

Also on Dec. 1st the Boot Scootin' Santa Run 5K and 1K will be held at 111 W. Main Street in Carrollton at 8 a.m.

The same day, Brains for Autism 5K and Fun Run-Walk will start at the Dreyfus Club, White Rock Lake in Dallas at 8:30 a.m.

Later that day the Jingle Bell Night Run-Walk will begin at Sundance Square in Fort Worth. The one-mile Reindeer Run starts at 4:30 p.m. with the 5K at 5:00.

Dec. 2nd the Tri4Life SuperSeries Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Relay, Duathlon, and 5K, formerly the RumBiTri Triathlon will be held at Lewisville ISD, 1776 Timbercreek Road in Flower Mound at 6:45 a.m. with a 3.2-mile run for $40. The Duathlon involves cyclists and joggers for an entry fee of $70 and the Triathlon and Relay is a 350-meter swim, 15.5 bike, and 3.2-mile run event for a fee of $90.
