So it seems like a monkey has been successfully cloned. The significance in that being that an actual primate has been cloned without any signs of complications. When it comes to sheep, cows, pigs or any other four legged creature then we seemed to be only a little concerned. However, when it comes to creatures that we possibly evolved from, there seems to be something that speaks to us a little louder.

Anytime there is the conflict between morality and making money, there's going to be controversy. Fear of anything new or the possibilities that the new could bring with it, cause us to raise our eyebrows and scratch our heads. Of course the hugest argument is that this scientific advancement would put too much power in the hands of humans and prompt us to "play God".

So far there are laws in the UK that would prevent the cloning of a human, but they say in many other countries there are not. If cloning a human was enough of an issue to become illegal, would it be a whole new ring of criminal activity like drugs and prostitution? Would this be one more industry that only a few will make a huge profit from or would much of the financial gain go into the pockets of the government if it was regulated somehow like the tobacco industry?

Science has added twists and turns to our human experience that hundreds of years ago would've never been thought of. However, I'm not quite sure anything of this magnitude has popped up on the radar before now. I am curious as to how all this will play out and if science will keep pushing the envelope to the point of no return. Isn't it quite possible that a human has already been cloned somewhere in the world, yet we don't know it? The world is filled with mad scientists and powerful, wealth people. That's a combo that would ignite some sparks. The world is a pretty big place you know.
