I am a single male in his 20's with mediocre cooking abilities. Like most males of my age and with my marginal cooking skills a common meal in my life consists of picking up the phone and ordering a pizza.

I like to try all types and shapes of pizza. I like some of the large nation wide chains and I also enjoy some of the local pizza joints. Recently there has been a great increase in the pizza restaurants in the area and since I tried them all I got pretty burnt out on pizza.

Then not too long ago I saw an ad for a pizza that I just had to try. Domino's has a new type of pizza called the Crispy Melt.

The concept for the Crispy Melt is that the crust on the bottom is your typical thin and crispy crust. On top of that is sauce, cheese and whatever toppings you choose, just like a regular pizza. Then there is what makes the Crispy Melt from Domino's different. The Crispy Melt has another thin and crispy crust on the top of the toppings, making it more like a sandwich than a pizza.

When I first saw the idea for Domino's Crispy Melt pizza I thought it looked good but had a few concerns.

The first concern is simple. Does it taste good? The answer to that is a resounding yes.

The second concern for me is, are both crusts really thin and crispy? I've always been a thin and crispy man and I had my doubts that both sides were really going to be crispy. But sure enough the top crust is just as crispy as the bottom crust.

Another concern I had was how filling the pizza is. I've always been a fan of Domino's thin pizza. It tastes great. The problem is that their thin pizza is so thin that it isn't very filling. I could eat an entire thin pizza from Domino's on my own (I know that's very attractive to you ladies out there.) The good news is that Domino's Crispy Melt pizza is as filling as a thick crust pizza, but still has that delicious thin and crispy taste.

Takeaways
  • The Crispy Melt has a thin crust on the top and on the bottom.
  • The Crispy Melt is really crispy on both sides.
  • Everyone should try Domino's Crispy Melt.

I guess living in a small town keeps us out of the loop in what is new in pizza. Great review
