When dealing with a lot of these resort towns unfortunately some of the people conducting business down there make it a little hard for the average person to stay there for a reasonable rate. I guess they figure since they can look their nose up at you then you must be on your own as far as finding a nice vacation spot for you and your family. Maybe they expect you to do the fake cowboy thing like Bon Jovi and Madonna do and be able to spend millions on building your own ranch house as you pretend to be a real outdoors enthusiast. If you want to go skiing however which most folks do on a winter-tundra type vacation most resorts such as the in Park City offer skiing tutorials for either an added on fee or it will come for free. Either way you will be paying for it in the end.

I know this sounds too simplistic, but a way to avoid pitfalls and scams is to do as much research as you can. There are great places and deals out there. Just remember to do your homework! When booking a vacation in a potentially unfamiliar area like Park City, Utah don't be afraid to call up any friends and family who may have planned a similar trip in the past. Let's say you are taking the kids up to their grandparents' neck of the woods, don't be ashamed to ask your parents for information on the area. Just because you moved out to live on your own many years ago doesn't mean your parents are completely bankrupt of good information as you move further along in your own adulthood. Also, don't be afraid to ask the company you are booking the trip with any questions that comes to mind, no matter how mundane and pointless. If the business is unwilling to answer it, then obviously you should patronize that establishment. There are travel guides that can be sent on request at parkcityinfo.com
