Dang Gui, also known as Radix Angelicae Sinensis, is used to enrich blood, activate blood circulation, regulate menstruation, relieve pain, relax bowels and stimulate menstrual discharge.
• Replenishing blood and regulating menstruation. It is efficacious in the treatment of flaccidity and pale complexion, vertigo, palpitation, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea due to blood deficiency
• Promoting blood circulation to stop pain. It is efficacious for such conditions as traumatic injury, carbuncle, cellulitis, sore, ulcer and other skin and external diseases, arthralgia due to pathogenic wind-dampness, and abdominal pain due to stagnation of blood during menstruation and delivery.

The raw Chinese angelica root (slices) is more widely used for enriching the blood and loosing the bowels, while the liquored Chinese angelica root is more qualified for promoting blood circulation in the body and restoring menstrual flow in women.
