Paris Hilton to Promote Her New Fragrance, Can Can, in San Francisco Bay Area

Can Can Getting Lots of Attention from Professional Beauty Bloggers

In a Nov. 15 press release, Karen Monterichard of Makeup and Beauty Blog, announced her upcoming interview with Paris Hilton. Hilton will be in the San Francisco Bay Area the weekend of Nov. 17 to promote her latest fragrance, Can Can.

Monterichard, who says Can Can is "a serious entry in the fragrance market," is obviously excited for the opportunity to interview Hilton. "I'm going to get the dish on what her favorite makeup and beauty products are and whether or not she reads beauty blogs. I'd like

to ask her what her vision is in terms of where she's going to take her beauty product lines."

Reportedly, Can Can is getting lots of attention from professional beauty bloggers like Monterichard and others. Although Monterichard says Hilton's popularity has brought attention to the fragrance, the scent itself is also playing a big part. "It's a youthful scent, really feminine, not overwhelmingly sweet like some of the perfumes out there today. You can be in your early 30s like me and still pull it off," said Monterichard.

According to online article "Paris Hilton's Can Can," the name of the fragrance was inspired by a raunchy dance associated with Parisian club Moulin Rouge at the turn of the century. The article also says that during her promotional tours, Paris is outfitted in a frilly dress and fishnet tights, in which she is said to ooze sex. The article says that when Paris was interviewed, she talked about her love for her perfume. She is quoted as saying, "I love fragrances - this is my fifth fragrance now. As women, I think it's great just to smell nice. It feels good when people are always complimenting me, and I believe smell is a very signature thing - it is something you're going to remember somebody by."

Monterichard says that celebrity perfumes have evolved from sweet, candy or fruity body sprays found on drugstore and department store shelves to more subtle and complex fragrances much more likely to be found in upscale department stores and boutiques.

It "sounds" like it smells good...I hope it does...interesting to see her roll out and presentation with this line in light of the year's events.

Great reporting of this. I actually really like all of her other fragrances, but I agree with jcorn. The name is a little bit of an unusual choice. Thanks for sharing! = )
