In the old society, women have lived very limited lives. Then, they only stayed at home to do housework and take care of the family. Restrictions have been so rampant and inhumane in those days. Women's opinions were not honored as valid argument even in their homes. Freedom was also restricted and they can only be in places when they are accompanied by parents, guardians or spouses in social gatherings. It was tough for women to grow and develop in the society when their thoughts and talents were suppressed although in some countries women were treated only as trophies. Generally, women in the olden days were only taught to do laundry, cooking and clean, hence, some societies prohibited women to get formal education. They were only given the task to care for the husband and the children. Women were raised to be full of insecurities. Those who have the guts to speak their mind were ridiculed and discriminated.

But those were days of long ago. Now, women make large contributions to the society. Career women today even surpass the men in their leagues, be it in management, marketing or sales. Job opportunities have been so widespread for the female gender that men are having a difficult time in catching up for applying in vacancies. The engineering field was thought be for men but now the numbers of lady engineers are booming. In science and medical practice, where no women before was admitted; now women sometimes surpass the capabilities of men. In politics and governance, not only did they earn their suffrage rights, quite a number have been leaders of their communities, societies and countries. Women now enjoy the equal representation with men in terms of opportunity, education, business, as well as in sports.
