Having numerous bodies of water around the great state gives a bountiful of marine species, particularly the fish family. Salt water and fresh water fish come in to the smaller water channels throughout Alaska to make habitat and spawn. Some fishes would stay but other larger species would come out the ocean again yet leaves behind a great deal of off-springs and eggs to hatch in the perfect environment inside Alaska's water bodies. Water currents in Alaska can be as varying as its weather patterns. Due to the effects of the oceans that surround the vast state, the tides in the inner water channels, lakes and bays are also varying. The change in tidal activities in the Pacific Ocean will definite hit the part of Gulf all the way to the southcentral waters like the Cook Inlet, Prince William Sound, and The Inside Passage. The changes in outer currents can be felts in other water bodies but it may take time and is not the same in form but you are to experience the roughness or smoothness of the effect. Up in the far north of Alaska the Artic currents bring about tidal changes as far as the Chukchi Sea, Pradhoe Bay and other inner channels. Ice melt downs make a factor affecting sea currents in this area.
You should also know that apart from the tidal changes around the state, air pressure and water temperature also affects the tides not only in Alaska but worldwide. There are certain indication and factors in the sea itself. Other theories would give you the solar and lunar relations about the sea. Whatever it is that you think of, you should be well informed that the tides in the water is a great part of fishing. Knowing the tides during your fishing trip will mean enhancing you harvest and catch. Like land mammals who posses the ability to sense a coming weather disturbance, the fish species, as well as other marine species know when and how to go about with changing tidal conditions. If your knowledge of the activities of the seas and its properties is used, the best chance for a successful fishing is indeed at the palm of your hands.
