Knowing that the next season of Survivor was going to be in China, I was quite intrigued as to how they would do it, and what originality that this could bring to a new season. Starting with 16 contestants, it has slowly been whittled down until it sits at our current set of 7 contestants. From that group, one person is going to go home with $1 million, and there are a couple of contestants that might stand a chance at taking home the big prize.

From the start of the season, my favorite person has been James, a grave-digger from back in the states, who is usually pretty stoic and keeps most of his thoughts to himself. That is, until he gets pressured, and then there is no telling what he will say or do, including going off on people for throwing challenges like happened a few weeks ago on the show. He is strong, has a lot of stamina, and truly looks like he wants to win the grand prize. Combine that with the fact that he has found both hidden immunity idols (game pieces that can be used to keep people from voting you out) and he looks to have an easier route to the final 2 or 3 than some of the other contestants. Only time will tell if he can do it, but it is a sure bet that some of the other players will be gunning for him.

The other person that could prove to be quite competitive down the final stretch is Todd, a flight attendant who has made and broken so many alliances in this season that you cannot even keep track of what his next move is going to be. I am not convinced that he even knows where he is going to turn next, because when he gets tired or flustered, he tends to make split-second decisions without putting much thought into them. This makes him a liability for many alliances, and though he is pretty strong in the social aspect of the game, I expect him to eventually get blind-sided by someone he has crossed in the past, ultimately leading to his own demise.

Takeaways
  • This is the 15th season of Survivor
  • The Contestants are in China competing for the prize mony.
  • Survivor is shown Thursday's at 8pm on CBS
