Traditional anniversary gifts are rarely given these days. Following the guidelines of traditional anniversary gifts can be a creative way to give your anniversary gifts each year. Most of the gifts listed in the span of anniversary years are "modern" traditional gifts, except for the 50th anniversary, which is one of the most well known anniversaries to celebrate with a specific gift. Here are the traditional gifts for anniversaries 41-50.

41st Anniversary: Land. Land is the traditional gift for a 41st anniversary. If you don't plan to buy a new home for the anniversary gift, try purchasing a great vacation so you can really see a new "land." Or you could provide natural gifts such as plants or trees, or even pottery and ceramics made from clay which was once land.

42nd Anniversary: Real Estate. Real Estate is the traditional gift for the 42nd anniversary. Again, if you're not in the market for a new home, you have to get creative with this one. Consider going on a vacation where you tour a time share (no one says you have to buy!). You could give a specialized Monopoly game; versions are available now for any interest. If your spouse enjoys decorating for the holidays, perhaps you could purchase her a lovely Christmas village set.

43rd Anniversary: Travel. Travel is the traditional gift for a 43rd anniversary. Indeed vacations are a great option for this anniversary. New luggage, a great handbag, or other traveling needs would also be appropriate gifts.

44th Anniversary: Groceries. Groceries are the traditional gift for a 44th anniversary. This may be the funniest of all the traditional anniversary gifts. Exotic imported chocolates, high-end coffees, or other specialty foods can make this odd traditional anniversary gift just as special as the others.

45th Anniversary: Sapphire. Sapphire is the traditional gift for a 45th anniversary. Sapphires come in all colors but are mostly seen in royal blue. Jewelry can be purchased or anything with a lovely sapphire color.

I love sapphires, but does that mean I need to wait another 40 years to get any?! Just kidding. This is a great article. Sophie

Let me get this staight- first you give land, then a house to put on it, then you travel to get away from the house? Who came up with this scheme?

You get to year 44 and all that you get are groceries?? Kidding - you had some great ideas for that topic. I'm all about the imported chocolates!

WOW! I guess you'd deserve the land or real estate after all that time.
