Saint Patrick's Day is a day for wearing green. Leprechauns, rainbows, and chasing the pot of gold are the magical dreams of Saint Patrick's Day. A child's imagination comes to life with the magical beings. Green and gold are the mascot colors for a leprechaun. Leprechauns are mystical creatures. Saint Patrick's Day is more than just wearing green, it sparks a time to enjoy a magical world of make believe.

A rainbow leads to a pot of gold. A leprechaun is greedy, little creatures who will guard their pot of gold with their life. Rainbows are magical bridges leading to their treasure. Green shamrocks and green four leave clovers have magical powers. A child's imagination is brought forth on this holiday. Your child can create crafts to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. Here are a few craft ideas to spark your child's imagination.

Gold Coins. Gold coins are quite simple to make. You will need the following materials; cardboard, a shape of a circle, cutting knife, gold spray paint and a pencil. Simply trace several circle shapes onto the cardboard and cut the shapes out. You should now have several coins, don't look like gold coins yet? Spray them with the gold paint and there you have it gold coins. Gold coins are fun projects to create for this green holiday. The key to point is to allow the gold coins to dry before use. You wouldn't want to have gold fingers or gold paint all over place.

Pot. You cannot have gold coins without the pot. An old ice cream container with a handle will be a perfect pot for the gold coins. You will just need to spray paint it black. A pot for the leprechaun's gold is a simple and easy project to complete. You should let the container dry before adding the gold coins. A black pot holds the coins that hold a greedy value to a leprechaun.

Rainbows. Saint Patrick's Day cannot be Saint Patrick's Day without a rainbow. How can a child create a magical rainbow? It is quite simple. The shape of a rainbow is like the shape of a half moon. Once the shape of the moon is created, the coloring can begin. The rainbow should be very bright and colorful. A colorful rainbow attracts on seekers to the location of their valuable gold coins.
