According to ago.mo.gov, Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon is working hard to fight an ticket scalper who has scammed numerous Missouri residents.

The out-of-state ticket scalper, who currently has a lawsuit pending against him, is scalping tickets for next weekend's sold out game between Kansas University and University of Missouri. However, Attorney General Nixon was able to obtain a court order that would prevent him from scalping tickets for this event.

The ticket broker is the head of GoTickets Inc., a company based in Springfield, Illinois. The court order prohibits GoTickets Inc. from selling or offering to sell tickets for the game next weekend above the face value. By doing this, the company is breaking state and local laws in both Missouri and in Illinois.

The Attorney General got word of the scalper back on November 9th. An investigator working for the Attorney General purchased two tickets from GoTickets Inc.'s web site for the November 24th Border Showdown game. The tickets were sold to the investigator for $275 a piece with a $14.95 shipping charge for each ticket. The purchase was also made within the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri.

Due to this transaction, the Attorney General was able to pursue charges against the ticket broker and GoTickets Inc. for selling tickets way above the face value.

Additionally, the broker also scalped tickets to the December 3rd Hannah Montana concert that will take place at the Kansas City Sprint Center. The price of these tickets were significantly inflated, especially since the event has been sold out for many months so far.

Nixon send about the lawsuits against GoTickets Inc., "This broker continues to scalp tickets in violation of Missouri consumer protections laws, despite our pending lawsuit."

It's too late for me to read, but I really want to help you. I'm sure I'll come and actually read some of your articles later! Like I said, I know what it is like, and it is definitely not fun.

Ticket scalpers are definitely hurting the whole situation for all sports and entertainment fans. Recently, i have been reading all of the news and coverage about hannah montana and the huge concert ticket prices. i am very happy for the girl star, but the ticket brokers and ticket scalpers need to be eliminated from the scene. they are the ones jacking-up prices. I went online and saw a variety of web sites selling tickets. One site seemed interesting, stating it was eliminating the scalper/middleman. It was www.freeticketexchange.com . i'll see what happens.

This is a very good article. My daughter loves Hannah Montana and I was planning on getting some tickets to go see her. I had always heard that Go Tickets Inc was a reputable company now I believe that I will research some other methods to get tickets for my daughter. Again, well written.
