Should You Try Green Bean Diet Dog Food?

Don't get the wrong idea, this isn't about feeding your dog green beans and nothing else. What you're doing here is making green bean diet dog food by mixing in some green beans with your dog's regular food.

What's the benefit? It helps keep your dog full between meals. If your dog is like mine, she seems to be hungry and looking for anything she can in between meals. But if she has some green beans mixed in with her food, she
stays full and doesn't feel deprived. She's happy and content until it's mealtime again.

Not all dogs really need to have this added to their food. But for those dogs that always seem to be hungry and eat more than they should in one sitting, this is a handy solution. You are only going to be giving a small amount of green beans to your dog, so you don't need to go buy a slew of cans. Store the leftover green beans in the can in the fridge, until the next day.

Keep track of how much you are giving your dog by measuring it. Once she's used to it, be sure to give her the same amount every day. In the beginning, though, start small. Add a little bit, then ramp up the amount each day.

Go ahead and stock up on green beans if you see a great sale. But do keep in mind that unless you have a giant of a dog who devours a heaping amount of dog feed in one meal, you won't be going through them too fast.

The amount you feed her, depends of course on how much she typically eats and her size. By the way, do your best to get green beans without added salt; this is very important.

Probably the best thing about this diet dog food plan is that your dog will be able to get down to a healthier weight, which means she'll have more energy and better health. So get your dog to eat her veggies.
