The Mugen game engine has been used mostly to create fighting games. Babel Sword not mere fighter. This horizontal shooter features polygonal characters and backgrounds that are breath of fresh air. Does it overcome Mugen's limitations to deliver av fun experience?

Past attempts at 3d Mugen creations have been less than stellar. Babel Sword has a unique look and play style that seem to work well. Most mecha designs. while somewhat tiny, look good. Each has their very own personality and don't too bland.

Babel sword features a tutorial for beginners. While this is a Shooter, the control scheme will throw you off if you are unfamiliar with it. Aside from just firing weapons, there are recovery, barrier and speed up commands at your disposal.

Seriously, pay attention to the tutorial. This is a game that has a somewhat steep learning curve. At first, winning seems near impossible most of the team. Unless you want to dedicate time to grow accustomed to the fast paced game play don't waste your time with Babel Sword.

As you progress through the game, you will encounter bonus areas as well as boss battles. The Boss battles are your standard "Hey, I'm bigger than you! *begin bullet orgy*" affair. Each boss boasts an impressive array of attacks. It's not bullet hell, but they aren't push overs either.

Babel Sword does not include the WinMugen EXE. You will need to download WinMugen and place the EXE in its proper place in order to play the game. While not the deepest, It is one of the better full Mugen games. Always nice to see something original instead of another fan game.
