There is such a wide variety and different array of signs, symbols and designs that people get tattooed on their bodies as a way to show their faith. Some people even get different symbols or design's tattooed on their skin as a way of protection for their selves.

There is the ever popular symbol of the cross and you can get it in an endless number of designs or styles. It just depends on what you like. You have just a plain cross. There's the crucifix, a cross with the body of Christ crucified on it.

Lots of different individuals get different types of crucifixes as a way to show their faith. The crucifix is the very embodiment of faith for Christians. Some people even get the crucifixion scene of Christ along with the two other people that were crucified at the same time his was. It is a really popular scene. Christ and the two guys, one on either side on him, all crucified together on a hill.

Celtic crosses seem to be among the favorite types of crosses that people like and want to adorn their skin with. They are the pretty crosses you see that usually have some kind of Celtic knot work in them. Celtic crosses are really nice pieces to have tattooed on you.

Angels make nice tattoo designs for people who want to express their faith or maybe as a way to that they have a guardian angel always with them, looking over them to keep them from harm. Some people even get angel wings tattooed on their skin for the same reason and some people just get them because they are really pretty and symbolic of what angels stand for like purity, love, protection, beauty and innocence.

Stars are used in many different religions and they can be used to represent a person faith like the Star of David or the star of Bethlehem. You also have a pentacle which is as star enclosed in a circle. There happens to be a big misunderstanding about the pentacle symbol and what it represents. The pentacle is actually a symbol of good and used for protection.

People often confuse the pentacle with the pentagram. They are basically the same kind of design except the star in inverted or upside down in a pentagram. The pentagram is used in black magic while the pentacle is used for good.
