Black Friday Sales in Portland, Oregon

Thanksgiving - a time for friends and family gathered around to give thanks, to have some turkey and pumpkin pie, and to plan their Black Friday shopping strategy! What is Black Friday, you may ask? It is the shopping event of the year and the kick-off to the Christmas season. The event just happens to always fall on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

On Black Friday, the early bird catches the worm so be prepared to start shopping as early as 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. at some stores.

My best advice is to get a good night's rest, have plenty of patience, and bring some bottles of water to stash in your car. You don't want to get dehydrated while doing your marathon shopping. Pack some snacks like granola bars, fruit, bagels and cream cheese so you don't have to stand in line in a busy mall eatery.

Also, it is a good idea to call your specific store to verify hours and sales dates as scheduled times may change the closer we get to Black Friday.

Make plans to meet up with a friend or family member for lunch and celebrate all your great shopping bargains.
