Throughout time flirting has been a way of attracting attention for the purpose of fun and pleasure. It's a game every man and woman knows by instinct. It's as natural as breathing. We use it to seek companionship, fun and a ritual to mating. It's the survival of mankind through history. Flirting has brought together many of the worlds greatest lovers. It has also torn apart families and taken many to their death by their own hand or that of the jilted lover. But whatever you think flirting is it will always be a part of life now and for generations to come.
As Baby Boomers we are now entering our 40's, 50's and 60's. We were the generation of "make love, not war", "free love", and "if it feels good, do it!". We changed the morals and standards of relationships, leaving behind Victorian ideas of marriage before sex and every bride a virgin. No longer do we worry about live in lovers or sex before marriage. Thanks to the changes we are now free to pursue love and sex in any manner we choose. Flirting is an art for us.
The first thing we look for when flirting is our target. Are they open for love, fun or a future? What do we want? Let's start with simple and work our way up. We are going to let John and Mary as our fantasy guides.
1. John showers, puts on clean clothes and a light cologne. His hair is clean and combed in a style that says relaxation and class. He's ready!
Mary smells wonderful of a subtle scent of sexiness. Her clothes are not too showy, just soft material that says I want to be touched.
2. John always makes it a point to be near Mary.
Mary knows John is near, but makes it a point not to notice him every time.
3. John catches Mary's eye, smiles and gives a quiet wave and winks.
Mary smiles, nods then keeps eye contact with him seconds beyond what is acceptable. Hmmm... Mary has her own game!
4. John asks Mary if she has finally left (the latest movie hero) .
Mary laughs saying he (the movie hero) was never good enough to begin with.
5. John says she looks too ( beautiful, young, classy) to be here!
Mary looks him over then slowly traces her fingernail along the neck of her blouse, his eyes follow to the point below her neckline.
