This natural hairstyle is for ladies who are into stepping out on the town every once in a while. You'll just need to buy a few things for this style. The amount of time you'll need will depend on you braiding skills. But however long it takes, trust me, it's worth it.
The first thing you need to do for this hairstyle is get to the store and purchase either one of two curly ponytails. It can be afro-kinky or it can be a cute springy curl that you can pull apart and blend with your natural hair. Lastly, you'll need some kind of a moisturizer.
When you get home with all of your hair products, you can begin to do your beautiful hairstyle. Here's how you start. The night before, wash your hair and braid it so that in the morning, you can unbraid hair that should be pretty straight. Make sure the hair is completely dry before unbraiding.
Take dry, natural hair and do a small vertical part by your left ear. As you part, start from your forehead and go back to about the center of your head. Comb the hair out that you have separated to get it as straight as possible. Then, begin to French braid the hair following your part and going back to about the center of your head. It's sort of like doing half-done cornrows.
When you French braid, grab the hair tightly. That will make the braids for this hairstyle look as neat as possible. Then, move to the next section until you reach the other ear. This part of the hairstyle is pretty easy, as long as you can keep the braids straight.
Next, depending on your grade of hair, you will have to something with the back. It can be difficult to braid the back because you have to braid upwards toward the center of your head. But if you have a finer grade of hair, this natural hairstyle will be easier for you. That's because you might just be able to pull the back of your hair up into the ponytail.
Personally, my hair is not fine, so if I don't braid the back, my hair is too thick to fit into the ponytail. This is where the trick comes in: Make sure you purchase a ponytail that's long enough to cover any braiding mistakes you make in the back of your head. It can be hard to keep the braids straight, but a good length ponytail can conceal everything.
