Gibralter-based online poker company, Mansion Poker, will be the premier sponsor of the 3rd annual B.C. Poker Championships. The Canadian championship poker tournament series is often cited as being Canada's version of the World Series of Poker. With several tournaments aside from the main event, it is clear that Mansion's sponsorship deal will generate a great deal of exposure for the online poker company.

The BC Poker Championship is held at the River Rock Casino in British Columbia, Canada. The River Rock Casino is home to the largest poker room in Canada, making it a natural location to hold a poker tournament of this scale and magnitude.

The Championship Poker event actually kicked off on Sunday with the Ladies No Limit Holdem Tournament, which carried a $550 CDN buy-in and was held in the River Rock Casino's Show Theatre. This is followed by a $1,100 CDN buy-in No Limit Holdem tournament that is open to everyone, and a $1,100 CDN buy-in Pot Limit Holdem tournament that begins on Tuesday.

The main event of the BC Poker Championship will begin on Thursday, better known as Thanksgiving Day to those players arriving from South of the Canadian border. The main event of the poker tournament is capped at 1,000 players total, who will each spend $2,700 CDN to buy into the poker tournament. If filled to capacity, the main event poker championship will boast a prize pool of $2.45 Million CDN that is up for grabs.

"With Day 1 split into two flights, and the start-bank set at 15,000 chips, expect a nice slow blind structure to deliver some skillful card play, consolidating the B.C. Poker Championships' status as one of the most prestigious land-based poker events outside of the United States," said Mansion Poker in a press release.
