Fergie Heads Upbeat American Music Awards

The American Music Awards went off jamming with performances back dropped by lights of multiple colors with what seemed to be a silver theme. Beginning with a mix of her hit songs, Fergie started out the upbeat ceremony backed by Will I Am who sent out his sound of rhythm and blues. All before the entrance of the host, funny man Jimmy Kimmel who farced a fist fight with Kid Rock at one point in the all entertaining show.

So many performances made of a long, but fun show of music, humor, and amazing styles of dress and hair. A favorite of mine, Rascal Flats, put on a performance that went to show why I am not alone when it comes to undying love for their music. Alternative, Maroon Five also sent their sound floating over the audience and through the airwaves.

The biggest surprise of the evening was when Beyonce joined the country band of Sugarland as she brought in her R&B sound mixed with the bluegrass sound of Sugarland's "To The Left". A performance by Rihanna singing her hit "Under My Umbrella" broke the silver theme in a long elegant dress of shimmering gold.

Other performances kept the audience on their toes and in the mood as Celine Dion hit the stage singing her appropriate song "Taking Chances" before leaving a long stay in Las Vegas for a world tour. And Lenny Kravitz tickled the ivory as he took the breath away from his fans with his intense orchestrated sound.

For the younger crowd, the teen sensations of the Jonas Brothers, Miley Sirus (Hannah Montana), and Amanda Bines all made appearances with the Jonas Brothers performing as all the teens from the audience ran to the stage to grasp for a touch of the young threesome.
