We've all dreamed of writing a novel one day. Maybe you have even began writing what you thought would be the perfect novel. In order to write the perfect novel, however, one must first come up with the perfect idea. Here, we will take a closer look at some of the things that you should be sure to take into consideration when trying to determine whether or not your idea has the potential to turn into a novel.

Is Your Novel Idea Exciting and Interesting?

In order to write a novel, of any kind, the first thing that you will need to do is put yourself in a reader's shoes. Consider whether or not your novel idea is exciting. No reader wants to read a novel that will bore them to death. Interesting characters and a compelling or suspenseful plotline are both important keys to the perfect novel. If your novel idea is not exciting enough, however, don't completely discard of it. There are many ways that you can liven up even the most dull novel idea. The only thing that you need to do is use your imagination.

Does Your Novel Idea Target a Specific Audience?

Many people who write unsuccessful novels target their novels for one specific audience. This is a problem. The Harry Potter novel series, for example, targets more than one audience, as it can be enjoyed by both children and adults. In order to experience the most success with your novel, it is going to be important to make sure that you can target more than one audience. Limiting your audience to simply pet lovers or women between the ages of 35 and 40 will really limit the amount of interested readers that your novel sees.

Will Your Novel Idea Stand Out From All the Rest?

Oh I love a good twister to read, lol, a target audience is good, but a cult following is better!
