Wrapping paper seems to get cheaper and cheaper as the years go by. I don't mean price wise, I am talking about the quality of the paper itself. Its always the same boring old designs and the same boring colors. This year try something a little more fancy and make your own paper. Its defiantly not as hard as it may seem.

Brown Bag Paper
Ask for bags instead of plastic next time you go grocery shopping

Materials:
Brown paper bags (how many depends on how much paper you need
Scissors
Stamps
Paint (what ever color you want)
Markers

Step #1- Open up the bag and carefully cut along the crease on the side of the bag and then along the crease on the bottom. This way you can open it up and have one large sheet of paper.

Step #2- Paint the entire paper on one side. Set aside and let dry.

Step #3- Using your stamps and markers, create special designs or a special picture, anything that you want. Then let dry. Its best if you let dry overnight so everything has a chance to sit and then use it to wrap up a present the next day.

Tips: Anything can be glued to this paper as its pretty thick and heavy. Let your mind create anything that you want.

Collage Paper
Always a favorite with kids

Materials:
White Stock paper
markers
scissors
magazines
white glue
water
bowl
paint brush
rolling pin

Step #1- Let your children or yourself depending on who is making the paper, sift through the magazines and cut out anything that they want.

Step #2- Mix glue with water. I do a solution of 3/4 glue 1/4 water. This makes it not as thick and easy to spread where it wont leak through. You may need to play around with this some until you get a solution that you are happy with.

Step #3- Lay out your paper and decide where you want the picture to be. They can touch or overlap or stay far apart. The choice is yours. Once you have everything laid out where you want it to be, then flip the pictures over and paint the glue on the backside. Stick the picture in place. Complete your picture
